Simi, the Nigerian singer, and Adekunle Gold, her husband, have welcomed their second child.
The couple shared the news on Instagram, where Simi posted heartwarming photos from their maternity shoot.
In the images, the pair are seen wearing matching denim outfits. She revealed that the baby was born on March 10, 2026.
With the announcement, the singer subtly dismissed earlier viral rumours that she had given birth to twins, simply describing herself as a “mommy of two”.
However, she did not disclose the baby’s gender or name.
“+1. 3.10.26. God bless my little family #mommyof2,” she wrote.
The announcement comes weeks after Simi stepped away from social media following backlash over resurfaced old tweets.
The controversy initially began when she called for strict punishment for rapists, but attention later shifted to past posts that drew criticism.
The singer later stated that the tweets had been taken out of context and were never intended to be harmful.
While authorities announced plans to investigate the allegations, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) admitted that it would be difficult without an evidence.
Adekunle Gold tied the knot with Simi in a low-key wedding in January, 2019. They celebrated their first wedding anniversary in 2020, the same year they welcomed their first child Adejare.
The lovebirds have established themselves as fans’ favourites in the country’s music industry and across Africa.
