Fresh aerial attacks have killed civilians on both sides as the war between Russia and Ukraine intensifies, with children among the victims.
In Russia, a Ukrainian drone strike on a residential building in the Vladimir region, east of Moscow, killed a young boy and his parents, according to Governor Alexander Avdeev. The couple’s five-year-old daughter was reportedly hospitalised with burns.
In Ukraine, Russian attacks claimed more lives. A drone strike on a passenger bus in Nikopol killed at least three people and injured 12 others, regional military official Oleksandr Ganzha said.
“The bus was pulling up to the stop — there were people both on board and at the stop,” he said, describing the aftermath as devastating.
Ganzha accused Moscow of deliberately targeting civilians, calling the attack “a deliberate act of terror”.
In a separate incident, another Russian drone strike in the Dnipropetrovsk Region killed an 11-year-old boy and injured five others after a house caught fire.
The conflict, now in its fifth year since Russian invasion of Ukraine began, has resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths and displaced millions.
Both sides have intensified long-range drone and missile attacks in recent months, often targeting infrastructure, as fighting continues along key frontlines such as the Dnipro River.
