Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has criticised the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), accusing it of poor planning ahead of major tournaments, including the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
In a series of Instagram story posts on Wednesday, Ajibade voiced frustration over the federation’s failure to formally communicate vital details such as the opening date for the national team camp and planned warm-up matches for the April international window.
The striker shared a screenshot of a message believed to be from an NFF official, in which she was casually informed that the Super Falcons camp would begin on April 11.
She condemned the lack of official notice, stressing that players had not been properly informed about camp logistics or confirmed friendly fixtures for the international window running from April 7 to April 18.
In another post, she wrote, “We are not just preparing for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations; we are also fighting for World Cup qualification.
“Our performance at WAFCON will determine whether we qualify for the World Cup. So why are we not preparing with the seriousness and intensity this demands? This is not something to take lightly, for God’s sake.
“I no fit cry. Abeg weti be all this one for how long (sic).”
The Super Falcons are due to compete in the rescheduled WAFCON tournament, set to hold in Morocco from July 26 to August 16.
The issue has drawn further scrutiny after the federation announced the Super Eagles’ participation in the Unity Cup, a four-nation competition featuring Jamaica, Zimbabwe and India, slated for May 26 to May 30 at The Valley Stadium in London.
Reacting to that development, Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie also appeared to question the disparity, posting a picture of Super Eagles players with the caption: “So Eagles get another AFCON for July?”
