UTME: NSCDC assigns 42 officers to secure exam centres in Enugu

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed 42 officers to provide security coverage for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination in Enugu State.

The deployment, announced by the NSCDC Enugu Command, is aimed at ensuring a safe, smooth, and hitch-free conduct of the examination across approved centres.

According to the spokesperson, DSC Pamela Chukwu, the officers will be stationed at various CBT centres while additional personnel will monitor operations across the state.

“The NSCDC Enugu State Commandant, Dr Elijah Willie, has directed personnel to maintain high-level oversight and integrity for the examination.

“The commandant will conduct unscheduled visits to examination CBT centres to assess operational effectiveness and issue on-the-spot directives to enhance performance.

“The deployment is aimed at ensuring adequate security presence at all CBT centres, preventing examination malpractice, unauthorised access, maintaining law, as well as safeguarding candidates, officials, and facilities.”

She added that the command remains committed to ensuring professionalism and strict discipline throughout the examination period.
