The United States Mission in Nigeria has restated its commitment to a strong and enduring partnership with Nigeria, emphasizing cooperation across key sectors including security, trade, health, education, and cultural exchange.
In a statement posted on its X handle on Monday, the mission said both countries continue to benefit from long-standing people-to-people ties that support shared prosperity.
“The United States and Nigeria share deep ties in security, trade, health, education, and culture, and these people-to-people connections remain strong and vital to our shared prosperity,” the mission said.
The statement stressed that collaboration between both nations remains crucial in addressing regional and global challenges, particularly in security and economic development.
It further noted that the relationship goes beyond government-level engagement, extending to citizens, institutions, and private sector partnerships that continue to deepen bilateral cooperation.
According to the mission, these ties are helping to strengthen stability, expand economic opportunities, and improve social outcomes in both countries.
The reaffirmation comes as Nigeria and the United States continue joint efforts in areas such as counterterrorism, trade facilitation, education exchange programmes, and public health initiatives.
