Davido has apologized to fans after missing a scheduled performance in Lagos, attributing his absence to difficulties in securing aviation fuel.
He was expected to headline an event alongside Zlatan Ibile at a club in Ikate Elegushi during its fifth anniversary celebration, but did not show up, which disappointed attendees who had gathered for the show.
In a statement shared on his Instagram story, he explained that travel disruptions caused by fuel shortages affected his plans. He said:
“The world happened to me yesterday. These wars around the world have really started penetrating. Finding fuel was a problem yesterday to even fly. Everything had to be rescheduled,”
He added that the situation forced changes to his schedule and disrupted his flight arrangements.
Addressing fans who attended the event, he expressed regret and promised to make it up to them, saying:
“To my fans that pulled up… sorry I missed it. We’re going to run it back again soon,”
He also congratulated the event organisers and reassured them of his continued support, noting that he still intends to appear at a future date.
The incident reflects ongoing concerns about fuel availability and its impact on aviation and event logistics in Nigeria and beyond.
