Polaris Bank Limited has partnered Cyclotron Cycling Development Initiatives, also known as Cyclotron Club in a strategic move to further expand its corporate social responsibility (CSR) reach.

The partnership was formally announced at the Bank’s headquarters on Saturday at a brief ceremony with a jersey launch.

Members of Cyclotron Club in the newly unveiled Polaris Bank co-branded cycling jersey, after a wellness ride held as part of the LiveWell by Polaris initiative in Lagos.

Cyclotron Club is a Not-for-Profit Association with aim to promote safe, healthy and organized cycling for professionals in some segments of the economy across medicine, finance, law, tech, and academia.

The Club actively promotes health awareness through cause-based cycling campaigns such as the Lagos–Accra–Lagos Ride for Autism and other initiatives.

Speaking at the launch, Polaris Bank’s Executive Director in charge of Retail and Commercial Banking, Chris Ofikulu said the Bank had earlier sponsored the Club to promote its activities while stating that the partnership provided a springboard for the Bank’s ambition to own a wellness forward event.

“This partnership identifies as a strategic Initiative positioned to serve as a springboard towards Polaris Bank’s ambition to own a Wellness Forward Event.

“It is also a strategic opportunity to further expand our CSR reach under the “cause-based cycling campaign” which includes “Ride for Autism” which Cyclotron Club has done well in based on their records.

To this end, Polaris Bank sponsored the Club in 2025 to promote their 2025/26 initiatives,” the Executive Director said.

He noted further that the partnership was one of the Bank’s show of commitment to promoting healthy lifestyle not just amongst it’s workforce but the larger Nigerian population.

“Growing up, we used to communize Cycling. In those days, we use Bicycles as means of going for errands or going to school, going to the farm, etc or even conveying loads.

“Today, Cycling as it is now commonly called, is a recognized Sport even in Olympic Games where Cyclists are rewarded with medals.

It is one of the ways to exercise oneself to be healthy. Health is a very important aspect of human existence. As they say, Health is wealth!,” he noted.

In her brief remarks, Cyclotrone captain, Eziafakaku Nwokolo said the Club was proud to have entered into the partnership with Polaris Bank taking into consideration the Bank’s standout qualities. She explained that the partnership will afford the Club privileges of embarking on other worthwhile initiatives including sponsoring professional cyclist members to national and international events.

“We studied and identified with a number of standout qualities of Polaris Bank and this partnership is another pointer to the fact that the Bank indeed prioritises wellness and wellbeing of not just it’s staff but the larger populace. We appreciate the Bank for this partnership and make bold to say that with this partnership, we can now easily tick off some items on our to do list including sponsoring professional cyclist members to local and international events. By and large, we believe this is a good collaboration and partnership and we cannot thank the Bank enough for throwing their weight behind it,” she said.

Highlight of the launch was the cyclists’ skill display to the admiration of the audience.
