Muhammad Adamu Aliero has emerged as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the Kebbi Central Senatorial District following the party’s primary held on Monday in Birnin Kebbi.
The former governor and serving senator was affirmed at the Haliru Abdu Stadium after other aspirants stepped down following consultations with party leaders and stakeholders.
Announcing the outcome, the APC State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana Zuru, confirmed Aliero’s emergence after the withdrawal of other contenders from the race.
Party supporters at the venue celebrated the decision, which effectively cleared the path for Aliero as the party’s flag bearer for Kebbi Central.
Speaking after his emergence, Aliero described the process as a reflection of unity and maturity within the APC in Kebbi State.
“I appreciate the leadership of Governor Nasir Idris and the support of party members across the state. The peaceful outcome of this primary election has shown that APC in Kebbi is united and focused on victory,” he said.
He also expressed appreciation to Governor Nasir Idris, party executives, delegates, and supporters for their confidence in him.
Aliero pledged to continue focusing on initiatives aimed at improving welfare and development through effective representation.
He said priority areas would include education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment, and infrastructure.
Governor Nasir Idris, who attended the exercise, commended aspirants who withdrew in the interest of party unity, especially Alhaji Kabiru Sani Giant.
He also praised the reconciliation committee led by former Governor Sa’idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari for resolving internal disputes across senatorial districts.
The governor urged APC members to remain united and work towards securing victory in the 2027 general elections.
