Lagos Police say they found cannabis plants growing in black bags and cups, harvested cannabis and cultivation equipment, including grow lights, during a raid on a residential property on Monday.
The property manager, who was among those arrested, reportedly told investigators he had allowed a stranded foreigner to use a room after the man’s company closed. He said the foreigner then started growing cannabis to raise money to return home and managed the sales himself. The claims have not been independently verified.
Police described the raid as a significant step in efforts to tackle drug abuse and trafficking. Investigations are continuing, and the command urged residents to report suspicious activity.
