Pajor’s second-half brace proved decisive for the Blaugrana, while Paralluelo added two late goals to complete an emphatic win for Pere Romeu’s team on Saturday.

The final began at a high tempo, with Alexia Putellas shooting wide from Caroline Graham Hansen’s cutback. At the other end, Wendie Renard forced an excellent save from Cata Coll, while Lindsey Heaps had a rebound effort ruled out for offside.

Pajor missed a promising opportunity after Christiane Endler was caught out by Putellas’ long pass, but the striker’s attempted lob drifted wide of the right post. Coll was then called upon again just before halftime to keep out Selma Bacha’s free-kick.

Barcelona finally went ahead in the 55th minute when Pajor fired into the bottom-left corner after being found by Patri Guijarro’s accurate pass, leaving Lyon struggling to create a meaningful response.

The trophy was virtually secured in the 70th minute as Paralluelo’s cutback was finished from close range by Pajor. Although Tabitha Chawinga missed a clear one-on-one chance to reduce the deficit, Barcelona remained in complete control.

Paralluelo removed any lingering doubt in the closing stages, curling a strike into the top-right corner from outside the box before adding another in stoppage time after Pajor unselfishly squared the ball to her during a counterattack.

Data Debrief: Pajor’s scoring exploits deliver Champions League glory

Despite a tense opening spell, Barcelona’s class eventually shone through as they generated 2.11 expected goals (xG) from 12 attempts, compared to Lyon’s 1.42 xG from 14 shots, with Pajor emerging as the standout performer.

Pajor ended the Women’s Champions League campaign as top scorer with 11 goals. She also became the first player since the competition adopted a one-legged final format in 2009-10 to score in both quarter-final legs, both semi-final legs and the final in the same season.

The 29-year-old also became the first player to register 10 or more non-penalty goals in a single campaign since Tabea Sellner in 2021-22, while Barcelona became the first side to defeat Lyon twice in a Women’s Champions League final, having also done so in 2024.
