[TRENDING] Reactions trail as Imo nursing student was murdered after rejecting suspect’s advances

The public was angered in a now trending video over the tragic murder of Wendy Achumba in Umuadara, a nursing students Imo State.

According to reports, On May 21, neighbors broke into her locked room and discovered her body showing signs of sexual assault and a struggle. Police identified the primary suspect as Onyema Okonkwo, a local vulcanizer whose romantic advances she had rejected, along with an accomplice named Emmanuel.

The men tracked her, assaulted her, and killed her after she fought back and recognized Okonkwo. Both suspects have been arrested following community tips and transferred to Owerri for interrogation. Achumba, who was from Abia State, had just completed her training for a healthcare career, leaving her family and community in deep grief as calls for justice grow.
