The Nigerian actor, Stan Nze, has spoken about the importance of forgiveness in romantic relationships and marriage, stressing that love should be strong enough to overcome serious challenges.
Speaking at the premiere of the film ‘Ajosepo,’ the actor explained his views on why forgiveness, even in situations involving infidelity, can be necessary when it comes from a place of genuine love.
“Love is enough, real love, I’m not talking about the butterflies in your tummy, it’s not that, the one that Christ preached, the one that is agape, the love in Galatians 5: 23, it’s not built on flesh, its genuine, it is the one that is selfless, the one that is kind that forgives easily,” he said.
He noted that many marriages fail due to a lack of forgiveness between partners.
“Love is enough if it is the right love, yes, I can forgive cheating, but we shall not continue in sin that grace may abound, so you will not be stupid but if someone offends you or someone does something that is not right, that’s what it is… It is not a license to be stupid, but it is something that you should be able to forgive,” he said.
Stan Nze and his wife Blessing Nze dated for three and a half years before getting married.
The couple got married in September 2021 and welcomed their first child, a boy, in 2023.
