Afro-beats sensation Davido has been announced as one of the headline performers for FIFA’s World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert, set to take place in Los Angeles, United States, on June 10.
FIFA made the announcement on Tuesday as part of its build-up activities for the expanded 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The football governing body revealed that Davido will perform alongside Major Lazer, the music group led by American DJ and producer Diplo, during the Los Angeles edition of the concert series.
The show forms part of a coordinated live entertainment initiative designed to unite audiences across the three host countries through music, football and cultural showcases ahead of the tournament.
“Los Angeles will play host to a high-energy celebration, featuring Diplo’s Major Lazer and Davido, the first artists announced for what promises to be an unforgettable night of music, football and culture,” FIFA said in a statement.
The concert is scheduled to hold at the Crypto.com Arena. Gates will open at 5 p.m. local time, while the performance is expected to commence at 6 p.m.
FIFA noted that the Los Angeles performances will be connected with simultaneous events in Toronto and Mexico City, creating a shared celebration across the host nations in anticipation of the tournament.
FIFA World Cup 2026 Chief Tournament Officer for the United States, Manolo Zubiria, said the concert series highlights the spirit of togetherness and cultural diversity that characterises the World Cup.
“The Countdown Concert series celebrates the passion, unity and cultural connections across three countries and around the world that define the FIFA World Cup 2026,” he said.
He further stated that Los Angeles is expected to provide a memorable experience for both football enthusiasts and music lovers as excitement builds toward the tournament.
FIFA also disclosed that tickets for the event became available on June 3 and that the concert will be streamed worldwide through its digital channels, including the FIFA World Cup TikTok account.
Supporters unable to watch the live broadcast will have access to the full concert, as well as exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, on FIFA’s video-on-demand platform, VuMe Live, the following day.
