The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), has said the Federal Government is intensifying efforts against terrorism, stressing that suspects will continue to be prosecuted to strengthen national security.

He made the remarks on Monday in Abuja at the commencement of a new phase of terrorism trials involving hundreds of defendants, noting that the process reflects the government’s firm stance on insecurity.

Fagbemi explained that the ongoing proceedings represent the fourth phase of such trials under the current administration, aimed at addressing terrorism and related crimes.

He emphasized that the government remains committed to ensuring that terrorism in any form is not tolerated, pointing to the continued court proceedings as evidence of that resolve.

“We will fight with every inch of our blood to ensure that we make Nigeria a safe haven for everybody, ” he said.

He further disclosed that about 600 suspects will be tried in the current phase, adding that the judiciary has pledged to expedite the cases as part of broader efforts to combat insecurity across the country.
