Nigerian singer Bloody Civilian, has said that marriage is not a priority for her at the moment, despite continued pressure from family members on the issue.
In a recent interview, the 26-year-old artiste from Abuja disclosed that she is frequently questioned by relatives who struggle to understand her career path as a creative professional.
The singer, whose real name is Emoseh Khamofu, explained that conventional expectations surrounding marriage remain strongly ingrained in her family, particularly because she comes from a northern Nigerian background.
“One thing my family still does not understand about being an artiste is the fact that certain conventional things that they expect of a woman from the north are just simply not things I’m excited to do,” she said.
“For instance, marriage is not something that I am thinking of at all, but that question keeps being brought up.”
Bloody Civilian added that while such conversations continue at home, she remains focused on her music career and personal growth in the industry.
