Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has paid tribute to his late son, Ifeanyi, on what would have been his seventh birthday.
Ifeanyi, the son of Davido and his wife, Chioma Adeleke, was born on October 20, 2019, and would have turned seven on Tuesday.
In an emotional social media post, the singer honoured his late son, expressing how deeply he and his wife continue to miss him.
“Happy birthday, son… Me and mommy miss and love you! Keep flying high,” Davido wrote.
Ifeanyi died on October 31, 2022, at the age of three, after drowning in a swimming pool at his father’s Banana Island residence in Lagos.
The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the cause of death at the time, following an autopsy.
His death sparked widespread grief across the country, with fans, colleagues and public figures pouring in condolences to the Adeleke family.
