Why my wife and I consulted nine doctors across countries before baby’s arrival – Mr Eazi

Singer and businessman Mr Eazi and his wife, Temi Otedola, have opened up about why they sought medical advice from nine doctors across different countries ahead of the birth of their first child.

Speaking during a recent podcast episode, the couple said the consultations were driven by uncertainty about the country where they would eventually welcome their baby.

Mr Eazi explained that they explored several options because they had not yet made a final decision on where the delivery would take place.

He added that he considered Japan and even researched Japanese names for the baby.

“Why exactly do we see nine doctors? Nine doctors, to give you options, not just that, because we didn’t know where we were going to be. Which country? We didn’t know which country we would decide on. I wanted Japan,” he said.

Temi jokingly shut down the idea during the podcast, saying, “By the way, he’s also been looking at Japanese names, and I’m like, no, absolutely not.”

The couple announced in May that they were expecting their first child after discovering the pregnancy during their honeymoon in Asia.

They married in a private ceremony in Iceland in August 2025.
