Niger State Governor Umaru Bago has inaugurated a Digital Learning and ICT Centre at Martin Sanda Girls Science College, Paiko, facilitated by Justice Zaynab Bashir of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria.
Speaking at the inauguration, Governor Bago described the project as a laudable intervention and a model of corporate social responsibility, commending Justice Bashir for her commitment to promoting girl-child education.
He said the initiative should inspire other individuals and organisations to invest in the development of education and other critical sectors in Niger State.

During the visit, the governor also inspected renovated classroom blocks funded by Justice Bashir and directed that the school be fenced. He further announced plans by the state government to construct a modern science laboratory and a sports complex to enhance teaching and learning at the institution.
Governor Bago urged parents and residents of Paiko to encourage their children to pursue medicine and other health-related courses, noting that the government intends to establish a General Hospital in the area, creating employment opportunities for qualified local professionals.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the Ward Development Project, revealing that a Commissioner for Rural Development would soon be appointed to oversee the release of funds for projects across the state’s 25 local government areas.
In her remarks, Justice Bashir said the project was inspired by Governor Bago’s commitment to educational development and excellence. She described education as a powerful tool for transforming lives and empowering future generations, adding that the ICT centre aligns with the governor’s vision for improving access to quality education.
Former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Zubairu Dada, Paikoro Local Government Chairman Aminu Yandai, and the member representing Paikoro Constituency in the Niger State House of Assembly, Umar Nasir, commended both Governor Bago and Justice Bashir for their contributions to education and community development, urging other prominent citizens to emulate the gesture.
