Nigerian content creator and media personality, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as Kiekie, has revealed why she avoids working with certain colleagues in the entertainment industry.
Speaking during a recent podcast interview, Kiekie said she would not collaborate with skit makers whose content she considers overly vulgar or inappropriate.
The content creator explained that such partnerships would not align with the image, values and identity she has carefully built for her brand.
She noted that while she respects the creative approaches of other entertainers, she prefers to work with creators whose content matches her personal standards and creative vision.
“I would never collaborate with any skit maker that is too vulgar. I will not be able to collaborate with them,” she said.
When asked by the interviewer to mention a specific person, Kiekie said she did not have anyone in mind but acknowledged that she had seen several creators whose style did not fit with her brand.
“Let me think about it. Hmmm. I don’t have a name of one but I have seen quite a number of them. So if you’re too much breasts, bumbum, not that I have a problem with it but it’s just brand alignment,” she said.
She clarified that her decision not to work with certain creators was not a reflection of disrespect for their craft or efforts.
“My inability to collaborate with you doesn’t mean that I look down on what you do or I don’t respect what you do or I don’t see your hard work. I recognize your hard work but we just don’t align. It will affect the way my own brands are approaching my own work,” Kiekie added.
