Afrobeats singer Davido has taken a fresh swipe at Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo after the governor mocked Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke during a campaign rally.

The music star, who has consistently backed his uncle’s bid for re-election in the August 15 Osun governorship poll, posted what appeared to be Okpebholo’s WAEC result on his Instagram Stories on Friday.
Although Davido did not include any comment with the post, many social media users viewed it as a direct response to the governor’s criticism of Adeleke.
The online exchange came after Okpebholo, while campaigning for the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, also known as AMBO, ridiculed the Osun governor over his love for dancing.
Addressing supporters at the rally, which was attended by Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Edo governor suggested that Adeleke’s dancing had become a distraction from governance.
”Before somebody signs paper, he will dance. Are you not tired? For four years, this man has been dancing. Before he takes breakfast, before he drinks tea, he will dance,” he said.
Okpebholo also encouraged voters to accept money from political opponents but vote for the APC during the August 15 governorship election.
Davido has been actively involved in his uncle’s campaign, appearing at political events and repeatedly urging Osun residents to ensure the election is peaceful, free and fair.
