“She suddenly excreted, fell forward inside vehicle,” Late Nollywood actress, Tope Osoba’s families recount last moments
The family of late Nollywood actress Tope Osoba, has opened up about her final hours, revealing that she repeatedly expressed fear that she would die on the day she passed away.
Osoba’s death was announced on Wednesday, nearly two years after she underwent surgery for breast cancer in November 2024.
On Friday, the family announced that she will be buried on August 13, 2026.
In an interview with actor Kunle Afod, Tope’s two sisters detailed the events leading to her passing.
According to their account, the actress was en route to visit her aunt Kehinde Osoba at her church when she began accusing those around her of being kidnappers.
The matter was reported to a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos state, where Tope made a formal statement. The family said an investigating police officer (IPO) at the station offered to buy her snacks. While there, Tope allegedly claimed that her fiancé had taken another wife and wanted her dead.
They said after leaving the police station to visit Kehinde, whom they did not find at home, Tope complained of body discomfort after drinking cold water.
“When we were in the vehicle, she suddenly excreted. She then fell forward while in the vehicle. That was when I started crying. I also felt that her body was getting stiff as I held on to her. Immediately when we got to the hospital, we were also referred to Ogun State Teaching Hospital. It was at the hospital that we were told that she had passed away,” one of the sisters said.
“We started to call the family of Tope’s father. They told us she should be buried as soon as possible and not to conduct any autopsy on her.”
The sisters also revealed that Osoba stopped visiting the hospital for post-surgery treatment.
Earlier, Itunu Onadeko, Tope’s fiancé, had claimed the actress died at a police station in the Ikorodu area of Lagos state.
