The camp of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has threatened legal action against Senator Francis Fadahunsi, demanding ₦10bn in damages over alleged defamatory comments against the governor’s campaign spokesman, Pelumi Olajengbesi.
Olajengbesi’s lawyer, Hammed Lasisi, issued the demand in a letter dated August 12, 2026, following remarks allegedly made by Fadahunsi during separate television appearances on Viable TV and Channels Television’s Politics Today.
According to the lawyer, the senator made claims concerning Olajengbesi’s background and allegedly linked him to cult groups and acts of intimidation.
The letter quoted Fadahunsi as saying Olajengbesi was “not even from the same Ijebu-Jesha” and “from somewhere in Ogun State,” while also accusing him of “using thugs, Eiye and Aye.”
The lawyer also referred to comments made by Fadahunsi on Politics Today concerning the late Ajayi Aderogba, popularly known as Rogba, where the senator allegedly said, “Rogba is an Eiye man sponsored by Barr. Olajengbesi terrorising the whole … my own territory up and down through all these Eiye and Aye.”
Olajengbesi rejected the allegations, insisting that he had never sponsored or supported any cult group or used such groups for political or criminal activities.
His lawyer demanded a retraction of the alleged defamatory statements and a public apology within 24 hours.
The letter warned that failure to meet the demand would result in a ₦10bn lawsuit against Fadahunsi for defamation and injurious falsehood.
