[TRENDING VIDEO] Outrage as Senator Wadada’s wife allegedly distributes N325 million to women in Nasarawa ahead of election

Social media has been reacting to a viral video showing Hajiya Maryam Wadada, the wife of APC gubernatorial candidate Senator Ahmed Wadada, distributing millions of naira in newly printed 500 naira notes to supporters in Nasarawa State.

Hajiya Maryam Wadada, wife of APC gubernatorial candidate Senator Ahmed Wadada, launched her Women Empowerment Scheme, giving ₦50,000 each to 6,500 women across Nasarawa State’s 13 local government areas.

The ₦325 million program, started around August 10 in Awe and running through mid-August, provides seed capital for small businesses like petty trading and groundnut processing.

The video of the cash distribution has drawn criticism as vote-buying ahead of 2027 elections, with some questioning enforcement by anti-graft agencies, while supporters call it genuine economic aid. The EFCC has warned of pursuing such electoral corruption.
