Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has signed the state’s N1.84 trillion 2026 Appropriation Bill into law.
Fubara signed the budget on Thursday at a brief ceremony held at the Executive Chambers of the Government House in Port Harcourt.
Speaking at the event, the governor assured residents that his administration would remain committed to prioritising their welfare and executing programmes and projects designed to improve their standard of living.
He also commended members of the Rivers State House of Assembly for the speedy passage of the appropriation bill and assured them of his administration’s continued cooperation in the interest of the state.
Earlier, the Leader of the House, Major Jack, urged the executive arm of government to ensure effective and prudent implementation of the budget for the overall benefit of Rivers State.
The passage of the 2026 Appropriation Bill followed the consideration of spending proposals submitted by ministries, departments and agencies of the state government.
