The Ogun State Waste Management Authority, in collaboration with Environmental Health Officers from Sagamu Local Government, has arrested a woman seen in a viral video dumping refuse into a drainage channel in Sagamu.

In the video, the woman was seen carrying a yellow sack containing refuse before emptying it into the drainage during rainfall.

She reportedly appeared unbothered after noticing that she was being filmed and confronted over the act.

Confirming the arrest in a post on X on Tuesday, OGWAMA said the woman was apprehended following the circulation of the viral video.

“The Ogun State Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA), in collaboration with the Environmental Health Officers (EHO) of Sagamu Local Government, has apprehended the lady captured in a viral video dumping waste into a drainage channel in Sagamu last Friday,” the agency stated.

OGWAMA urged residents to desist from indiscriminate waste disposal and patronise waste collection operators accredited by the agency.

“A cleaner Ogun State is a shared responsibility,” it added.
