[TRENDING VIDEO] ‘I wasn’t aware,’ Anambra woman’s husband speaks on alleged abuse of daughters
The husband of Anulika Onyeanusia, the 36-year-old woman arrested in Anambra State over the alleged sexual abuse of their daughters, has spoken about how he discovered the incident.
The man, identified as Ikechukwu, said in a viral video that he was unaware of what was allegedly happening until a friend contacted him and showed him a video.
He said he had returned from church on Thursday evening when his friend asked him to come over.
“I came back from church. In the morning, I get ready, I go to my business, and in the evening I come back. So I didn’t know that something like this was happening,” he said.
“I only got to know when a friend of mine called me that I should come. I went to him, and he opened his phone and showed me a video.
“I saw the video. It was my wife, and I saw my daughter. She was molesting the child. I got kind of confused. What is this? What is happening? Could this be true?”
Ikechukwu said he initially intended to confront his wife after seeing the video, but his friend advised him to stay calm.
“I said, okay, but let me go and ask her. I came to her and asked her, ‘What exactly is this that I saw on the internet?’ She said no, that it was not true. I said, ‘How can you convince me that it is not true? She said I shouldn’t believe anything like that. She said it was AI,” the man added.
He said he subsequently went to the police station, where his wife allegedly admitted that the video was genuine.
According to Ikechukwu, the divisional police officer (DPO) asked his wife, in his presence, whether he was aware of what was happening involving their two daughters.
“I said no, I don’t know. He also asked, ‘Did your husband know about this?’ and she said no, that I didn’t know anything about this,” he said.
“I asked her, ‘did you do this?’ and she said yes.
“I got weak. I got tired. How come this kind of thing can happen? How can you do this kind of thing?”
Ikechukwu said he was deeply disappointed by his wife and had never imagined that she could engage in such conduct.
“I want the public to know that this thing that happened, I am totally disappointed in my wife. I never believed she was going to do this kind of thing,” he said.
