[TRENDING VIDEO] ‘Forgive me, the devil caused it,’ 36-year-old woman admits earning $300 from ‘child pornography’
A 36-year-old woman, Anulika Onyeanusia, arrested in Anambra State over the alleged sexual abuse of her daughters has appealed to Nigerians for forgiveness.
Onyeanusia was arrested in Onitsha a few days ago following allegations that she sexually assaulted one of her daughters using sex toys to produce sexual content.
Her arrest came after a disturbing livestream involving the child circulated online, triggering public outrage and demands for authorities to intervene and protect the minor.
During preliminary investigations, the suspect reportedly admitted to making money from the material, saying the highest amount she received was $300.
She also claimed that her husband was unaware of what she had allegedly been doing to their two daughters and attributed her actions to the devil.
“It was the handiwork of the devil. I am sorry, forgive me,” she said.
“The highest I’ve made is $300. It was one American guy that was paying me to do it, sometimes $100, sometimes $300.”
The woman’s husband is also being questioned by the police as part of the ongoing investigation.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the police public relations officer (PPRO), Tochukwu Ikenga, said the arrest of the suspect led to the rescue of four children aged two, three, six and nine.
The police also recovered sex toys and other items considered relevant to the investigation.
“The suspect is currently in police custody as the command intensifies its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged offence and the possible involvement of other persons,” the statement reads.
“The husband of the suspect is also undergoing interrogation to determine whether he has any connection with the alleged offence.”
