Minister of Defence Christopher Musa has endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for the 2027 elections.
Musa made his position known on Friday during a meeting with local government coordinators of GCG Musawah 4 PBAT 2027, a political mobilisation group in Kaduna.
The minister urged members of the group to remain committed to their mobilisation efforts aimed at securing the re-election of Tinubu and Sani.
The meeting also allowed Musa to engage with mobilisers from all 23 local government areas of Kaduna State, alongside representatives of more than 300 affiliated interest groups.
According to a statement by James Swam, secretary of the group, Musa emphasised the importance of collective commitment towards building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
“I will continue to work hard for Nigeria to succeed,” Musa said.
“We should remain determined to build this country because together we are stronger as a nation.”
The minister also highlighted the importance of religious tolerance, national unity and peaceful coexistence, referring to his childhood experiences in Sokoto.
“I grew up in Sokoto; there is no way I can object to any religion,” he said.
Musa recalled participating in Sallah celebrations with Muslim friends and neighbours while growing up.
“I remember that during Sallah, as children, we were the ones who would hold the ram to be slaughtered,” he said.
He said Nigeria possesses significant human and material resources that could help transform the country if citizens remain united and committed to national development.
“God put us in Nigeria to build this country, and we have the capacity to do it, both in human and material resources,” Musa stated.
The defence minister urged Nigerians to regard nation-building as a shared responsibility.
