Two men have been taken into custody for allegedly dumping human waste on a road divider in Oshodi, Lagos State.
The suspects, Sabo Ali, 50, and Ahead Adamu, 30, were reportedly caught transporting and disposing of the waste with a cart.
The Lagos Waste Management Authority Managing Director, Muyiwa Gbadegesin, made the disclosure on Friday through his verified X account.
He also revealed that a property allegedly linked to the illegal activity had been sealed by officials of the Kick Against Indiscipline team.
According to Gbadegesin, the arrests form part of the agency’s efforts to prevent environmental violations and stop residents from turning public spaces into illegal dumping grounds.
“We will continue to identify and disrupt illegal dumping activities, enforce environmental laws and protect public spaces,” he wrote.
He urged Lagos residents to take responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean by disposing of waste through recognised collection services.
“Dump responsibly. Use approved waste collection services. Help us achieve a cleaner Lagos,” he added.
