The family of late singer Toluwanisings has distanced itself from a viral fundraising campaign seeking financial support for the deceased musician’s wife and children.

The singer’s death was confirmed by his family, which disclosed that he passed away in the early hours of Wednesday.

However, just hours after his death, a flyer bearing the name of Tolaoluwa Foundation began circulating on social media, appealing to the public to make donations to support his wife and children.

“As we honour the life and memory of our dear friend, we are raising funds to support the wife and children he leaves behind,” the flyer reads.

“Your kindness will help provide care, comfort and practical support during this difficult time. Please give what you can. Every contribution matters.”

But in an Instagram post, Lanre Alewilese, the late singer’s friend, urged the public to report the page, adding that any legitimate fundraiser would be announced on Toluwanisings’ Instagram page.

“Disclaimer !!! This is not true please. Please let’s report this page massively. If at all something like this will come up it will be from @toluwanisings page. Thank you,” he wrote.
