Speaking after a meeting with Governor Masari of Katsina state, the president and CEO of Dangote Group of companies, Aliko Dangote, said in few weeks to come his company will commit huge amount of money to support rice farmers through Private Out grower Scheme aimed at boosting rice production across the state.
Under the arrangement, selected farmers are to be engaged and supported with improve seeds, farm implements for massive production of rice which shall be bought over by the Dangote group.
He said Dangote company shall provide all the necessary inputs and implements to farmers and also uptake the produce at the end of harvest.
Governor Masari in his remark, assured of his administrations support to the new drive aimed at empowering farmers and boosting economy of the state, while noting that agriculture has remain the surest way of advancing the state and country at large.
