Osinbajo to flag off MSME clinics in Kogi

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will tomorrow (Tuesday) inaugurate the ‘Marketmoni/Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) clinics in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

The Special Adviser to the state Governor on Multilateral, Donor Agencies and Special Projects, Mr Adoga Ibrahim, who disclosed this in Lokoja at the weekend, said the initiative is part of the Federal Government’s Social Investment Programme (SIP) designed to serve as delivery tool for the development and acceleration of SMEs across the country. He said the programme, which is billed to hold at the Confluence Stadium Lokoja, would assist small-scale businesses to solve almost all the challenges faced in the past.

Ibrahim, who is also the focal person of the social investment programmes in the state, said the MSME clinic would attract over 27 parastatals associated with the growth of small and medium enterprises, which would open an opportunity for various businesses in the state.

The parastatals expected to feature at the clinics are BOI, BOA, CAC, FIRS, CBN, NAFDAC, CPC, SON, SMEDAN and all commerce-related organisations.

He said about 105 businesses have so far registered to take part in the clinics, adding that those registered comprised 70 per cent women and 30 per cent men.
