JUST IN: Bandits kidnap woman, three children in Abuja

Bandits assaulted the Zone 5 area of Kubwa Extension 2 Relocation Estate along Arab Road in the Federal Capital Territory on Sunday night, abducting a woman along with her three children, including a six-month-old baby.

Reports state that between 8 pm and 9 pm on Sunday, December 10, unidentified gunmen opened fire indiscriminately, creating chaos in the area.

In a conversation with newsmen regarding the incident, a resident who chose to remain anonymous disclosed that kidnapping has become a regular event in the area every December.

He said, “This kidnapping has become a regular occurrence here every December. If you remember very well, last December, The PUNCH reported a similar incident of abduction in the area, now this is another one, and it is worrisome.”

Another resident noted, “This kidnapping is due to a lack of adequate security in the area. Last night they kidnapped a whole family – a mother and her three children, including a six months old baby here at Zone 5, Kubwa Extension 2 Relocation estate.”

As of press time, the FCT Police Command had not issued an official statement regarding the incident.

Upon reaching out to the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, our correspondent was assured that she would investigate the matter and provide a response.

“I will find out and get back to you as soon as possible please,” Adeh said.

Meanwhile, the FCT CP, Haruna Garba, did not respond to phone calls by newsmen on Monday.
