Shock as 28-year-old man kills three siblings with machete in Ondo

Shock and mourning have gripped Okitipupa community in Ondo State after a 28-year-old man, Femi Agbeye, allegedly hacked three of his siblings to death with a machete.

The tragic incident, which occurred on Tuesday, threw the area into panic as neighbours gathered to grieve the loss.

According to reports, the father of the suspect and the victims informed the police that Femi attacked his siblings while he was away, leading to their deaths. The victims were identified as Bose Agbeye, 20, Dupe Agbeye, 7, and Blessing Agbeye, 5.

“Upon receipt of the report, operatives of the Command swiftly mobilised to the scene, where the victims were found lifeless,” Ondo Police spokesperson Abayomi Jimoh said in a statement.

“Their remains were evacuated and deposited at the State Specialist Hospital Morgue, Okitipupa, for preservation and autopsy.”

Jimoh added that the suspect was arrested the same day and will face prosecution after investigations are concluded.

Reacting to the incident, Commissioner of Police Adebowale Lawal condemned the act and assured residents that justice would be pursued. He also appealed to the public to remain calm and support investigators with useful information.
