Actors who go into politics not real thespians – Funsho Adeolu shades colleagues

Well-known Nigerian actor Funsho Adeolu has declared that he does not view actors who enter the political sphere as legitimate actors.

This was stated by the 55-year-old in a recent interview with Teju Babyface, also known as Teju Oyelakin.

Funsho Adeolu asserts that a politician cannot be an actor. He started off by saying:

“All these other people they’re not actors, an actor cannot be a politician.”

“I know one who is a politician in Lagos, are you saying he is not an actor?” Teju asked.

“Well, I don’t consider him an actor,” Funsho replied.

“An actor should not be in politics, if you’re an actor who is in politics you were never an actor is that what you are saying?” Teju asked again.

“Yes,” Funsho responded.

Many people think that Funsho is referring to actor and film producer Desmond Elliot, who entered politics in 2015 by running for a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly for Surulere Constituency 1, despite the fact that he did not identify the individual.

Other performers like Kate Henshaw, Femi Branch, Tonto Dikeh, and Caroline Danjuma have also expressed interest in politics.

Funsho Adeolu also mentioned how many of his coworkers act phoney in order to maintain their public image on social media. He claimed that many of them would spend large sums of money at parties while being photographed, but after they got home, they would start phoning others to beg for money for their houses.
