The son of Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo, Ozonna, has addressed the criticism he frequently receives from Nigerians on social media.

In an interview with content creator Goodybagg, Ozonna admitted that his “visibility and confidence naturally attract negative attention,” but said he remains unbothered and will not alter his personality to gain public approval.

“I think it just kind of comes with it. Anybody that is visible and confident, you are going to get hate. I am not going to apologise to them for not liking me, I am going to keep being myself,” he said.

“I do not do this to be liked by everyone because I have a very strong sense of myself and I am not willing to apologise for that. So I am not going to stop doing anything just because someone does not like me. We are billions of people in the planet and we are all different.”

The interview comes after Ozonna drew online attention in September when he participated in the viral ‘What’s in your bag’ challenge.

While many praised his openness for sharing the contents of his bag, the post also triggered criticism and personal attacks, with some users making negative remarks about his upbringing and sexuality based on the items he displayed.
