Apple Music names Burna Boy biggest Nigerian artist of all time

Apple Music has crowned renowned Grammy-winning singer Damini Ogulu, also referred to as Burna Boy, as the biggest Nigerian musician of all time.

In honour of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day, the streaming behemoth made the revelation and listed the top 10 Nigerian musicians and songs that have ever been streamed.

Burna Boy topped the chart, with Wizkid, Davido, Rema, and Asake following closely behind.

The final five musicians rounding out the top ten are Tems, Omah Lay, Fireboy DML, BNXN, and Olamide.

Apple Music showcased the most streamed Nigerian songs on its site in addition to artist rankings.

The remix of “Calm Down” by Rema, which became a worldwide hit and included Selena Gomez, is now the most streamed Nigerian song ever.

The songs “Last Last” by Burna Boy and “Essence” by Wizkid, featuring Tems, came in second and third, respectively.

Other noteworthy songs in the top 10 list are “Location” by Dave and Burna Boy at number six, Tems’ “Free Mind” at number four, and Burna Boy’s “Ye” at number five.

The original “Calm Down” by Rema, “Rush” by Ayra Starr, “On The Low” by Burna Boy, and “Come Closer” by Wizkid, featuring Drake, are all included on the list.
