Big Brother Naija’s ‘No Loose Guard’ competitor Chinwe has said that Grammy-winning afrobeats musician Wizkid is “no longer relevant” in the music industry.
During a conversation with fellow roommates on Saturday, Chinwe made the contentious claim, equating Wizkid with the rapidly emerging afrobeats artist Rema.
She asserted that Rema, who has been gaining popularity abroad, has eclipsed the Starboy boss.
“Wizkid is no longer relevant, when was the last time he sold out a show? Even Rema is doing better than him,” Chinwe stated, sparking debates among her housemates and viewers alike.
She also praised Burna Boy, another Nigerian music heavyweight, for maintaining his superstar status. Chinwe added:
“Currently, Wizkid isn’t doing great. He has to prove himself and earn his status as a superstar. If it’s Burna Boy, I won’t be having this conversation. Burna Boy is doing well. He’s proving himself,”
In a diferent story, evicted housemate DJ Flo has revealed that she was not surprised to find out about Kellyrae and Kassia’s marriage, despite the couple keeping it from the other housemates on the show.
DJ Flo said in an interview with Pulse that she and a few other housemates had known from the first week onwards that Double Kay was married.
She said,
“I’m not shocked to find out that Kellyrae and Kassia are married. Because from the first week, we already saw it.
“Me and Rhuthee suspected that they were in a relationship. Chinwe came and told us that they are not just in a relationship that they are married. When she said it they were just laughing about it but we kept seeing the signs. We kept watching them closely even the way Kellyrae dances with Kassia during the party shows that they are not just friends.”
