Buju adopts BNXN as new stage name, gives reason
Nigerian singer, Daniel Benson popularly known as Buju has changed his stage name to BNXN.
The “Italy” crooner announced the change of name in a video post on social media platforms on Friday.
“It’s no longer “Buju” Call me “Benson” written as ‘BNXN,” the singer wrote.

Buju didn’t exactly reveal why he changed his stage name, but many believed it might be because of mix up with Buju Banton, the Jamaican reggae-dancehall singer.
Buju was nominated for the ‘Rookie of the Year’ category at The Headies 2019.
Since Buju left Burna Boy’s Spaceship Records in Q4 2020, upon the expiration of his contract, he’s been flying.
In 2021, he featured on the top-charting single ‘Feeling’ by Ladipoe and the song ‘Bling’ by Blaqbonez.
In August, he was featured on the deluxe edition of Wizkid’s ‘Made In Lagos’ album alongside Justin Bieber.
Buju’s collaboration with Wizkid on ‘Mood’ earned him a number one spot on UK Afrobeats Singles Chart.
In December, Wizkid debuted the ‘Made In Lagos (The Deluxe)’ short film, starring Buju.
