Burna Boy becomes most-charted Nigerian musician in US Billboard history

Nigerian musician Damini Ogulu, often known as Burna Boy, has surpassed Tems to become the Nigerian artist with the most entries on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

This landmark was reached after Coldplay’s song “We Pray,” which features Burna Boy, Little Simz, Elyanna, and Tini Stoessel, made its chart debut this week at No. 87.

Burna Boy broke a tie with Tems, who had five Billboard Hot 100 chart entries, with this most recent song, bringing his total to six.

With this remarkable achievement, Burna Boy surpasses Wizkid, the first Nigerian musician to chart with four entries.

Other notable Nigerian artists such as Rema, CKay, Fireboy, Davido, and Lojay each hold one entry on the prestigious chart.

Burna Boy is now just one song away from breaking the record held by South African rock band Seether for the most Billboard Hot 100 chart entries by an African artist.

In other news, Nigerian music star Damini Ogulu, professionally known as Burna Boy has become the first African artiste to sell out the iconic London Stadium twice.

With a capacity of 60,000 to 80,000 people, depending on the event, the stadium was almost packed to the brim with enthusiastic fans eager to experience Burna Boy’s electrifying performance.
