The ex-President of the United States, Barack Obama, has featured four Nigerian songs on his list of favorite music for 2023.
The selected songs comprise ‘Unavailable’ by Davido featuring Musa Keys, ‘Amapiano’ by Asake featuring Olamide, ‘Me & U’ by Tems, and ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ by Burna Boy featuring 21 Savage.
Additionally, the South African singer Tyla’s track ‘Water’ was also highlighted in the list revealed by the former US President on Friday.
The compilation spans various genres, encompassing Latino, pop, Afrobeats, hip-hop, grime, reggaeton, reggae, dancehall, R&B, and soul from around the world.
Sharing the list via his X handle, Obama wrote, “Here are some of my favourite songs from this year. Let me know if there are any artists or songs I should check out.”
