A Magistrate’s Court in Lagos has granted bail to Nigerian TikToker, Peller, who is facing charges of obstructing police officers.

Peller was granted bail in the sum of ₦500,000 on Tuesday after spending four days in police detention.

He was arrested on Friday following a confrontation with police officers in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

The TikToker was later transferred to the Ikeja Police Station and arraigned alongside one Bello Oladipo on a three-count charge bordering on resisting police officers and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace.

The charges include allegedly obstructing police officers in the discharge of their lawful duties, engaging in conduct likely to disturb public peace, and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Before his arrest, Peller appeared in a viral video accusing some police officers of harassing him for driving a tinted vehicle without a number plate.

While insisting that he had just purchased the vehicle, Peller alleged that the officers pulled his shirt, pointed a gun at his head, and insisted that he be taken into custody.
