The on-air personality known as Do2dtun, Dotun Kayode, and Nollywood actor Yul Edochie have traded words on social media over the ongoing controversy involving Roby Ekpo.

The situation gained attention last week after Mayowa Lambe got married to another man in the United States, surprising many who were aware of her previous marriage to Roby.

Roby and Mayowa tied the knot in November 2015, but neither of them had publicly announced a separation before news of the new marriage emerged.

In a recent podcast appearance, Roby spoke about difficulties in their relationship, especially issues relating to intimacy.

He alleged that Mayowa misled him and secretly used contraceptives during their marriage.

The revelations sparked widespread reactions online, with many weighing in on the matter.

Joining the discussion, Do2dtun defended Roby, saying he would rather see him alive than “die in silence”.

“I’ll rather have Roby alive than die in silence,” he wrote. “You all glorify the dead in a grave where he is quiet for life.”

He added that people often wish individuals had spoken up before it becomes too late, yet criticise them when they eventually do.

“Some of you will hope he spoke. Now he has, yet you crucify him,” he wrote.

“I don’t care how a man or woman purges but you see his mental health and his heart that still pumps is what I prefer over his coffin and silence.”

However, Yul Edochie disagreed with Do2dtun’s stance. While acknowledging that speaking out is acceptable, he argued that it is wrong for Roby to “show emotional weakness publicly”.

“My brother Do2, speaking out is ok. Crying is totally unacceptable,” he said.

He further suggested that instead of mourning a relationship, Roby should move on quickly.

“Rather than cry for a woman, replace her with 5 new hot women, impregnate all of them at once,” he added.

Amid the dispute, Mayowa demanded ₦100 million in damages from Roby over alleged defamation and harassment.

In a letter from her legal representative dated April 22, she maintained that there is no existing marriage between them, stating that it was “mutually terminated” on May 11, 2025.

She accused Roby of spreading “fabricated narratives” about their relationship and her character, claiming his statements were aimed at gaining public sympathy.

According to her, his actions have caused “serious defamation, emotional distress, reputational injury, and loss of goodwill,” adding that she has evidence to counter his claims.
