EFCC releases Bobrisky on bail

According to reports, Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, a controversial social media figure, has been granted bail by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Sources close to the commission told Linda Ikeji’s blog that although Bobrisky was given bail, he hadn’t complied with the requirements for his release.

The insider did not reveal any information on the precise terms of the bail, though.

In relation to an incident on March 24 at an event in Lagos state when he was observed spraying money, Bobrisky was taken into custody on Wednesday, April 3.

This news was released just hours after media personality Vincent Martins Otse, better known by his stage name Verydarkman, made a joke about Idris Okuneye, better known by his stage name Bobrisky, in response to the latter’s incarceration.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) recently arrested Bobrisky on charges of abusing and disfiguring cash.

Capitalizing on the online buzz surrounding Bobrisky’s situation, VDM showcased his comedic talents as he posted a funny video on his official Instagram account.

In the skit, VDM humorously portrayed the scenario that might have unfolded during Bobrisky’s detention at the police station.

In the video, VDM assumed the roles of both a commanding police officer and a subordinate officer tasked with assigning a cell for Bobrisky.

Expanding on the satire, he even mimicked Bobrisky himself. Donning a tank top and putting things on his chest area to resemble a woman’s bosom, VDM adopted Bobrisky’s style while protesting being placed in a male cell.

VDM’s skit, aimed at poking fun at Bobrisky’s arrest, quickly gained traction online, sparking a range of reactions from Nigerians.
