Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has shared her thoughts on movie promotion and marketing strategies via social media.
The entertainer, widely recognized for her energetic dance-driven and comedic approach to promoting her films, is presently regarded as the highest-grossing filmmaker in Nollywood.
In several posts uploaded to her Instagram story on Saturday, Akindele made it clear that she is not responsible for obstructing anyone’s success, stressing that progress is more meaningful when everyone thrives together.
She said, “I’m not the one hindering your progress. Ka rin ka po, yiye nin ye ni”
She went on to emphasize that there is enough room for everyone to succeed in the industry, encouraging others to chart their own course if they are unable to compete directly or collaborate.
She said, “If you can’t beat them or join them, create your own path. No allow jealousy burn you. The sky is so big for everybody to fly. Eyin Werey jojo!!!”
The actress further advised her colleagues to explore different promotional ideas when marketing their projects.
She said, “Go ahead and create alternative promotion or marketing strategies for promoting your business, or hire a company to handle it.
“You can do it! The opportunities are endless, and everyone has their own path. I’m focused on mine, and I have faith in God’s plan for me.” She added.
According to NEWSCLICKNG Online, Funke Akindele currently dominates the Nollywood box office, holding the top three highest-grossing films. Behind The Scenes, released in 2025, has earned N2,407,000,000 and is still generating revenue. Everybody Loves Jenifer (2024) recorded N1,882,553,548, while A Tribe Called Judah (2023) amassed N1,408,227,541.
