The Nigerian content creator, Deka George, has expressed grief over the death of her sister, Evans Akinloye Chiamaka, blaming the tragedy on the absence of hospital oxygen and her inability to be present at the time.

In a post via Instagram, the influencer shared photos of her late sister and disclosed that Chiamaka, aged 36, died from complications related to childbirth.

George said the loss has left her overwhelmed with guilt and anger, noting that she was not able to be with her sister when she needed her the most. She explained that she missed her sister’s final phone call because she was attending two different court sessions in Lagos.

According to her, the situation prevented her from travelling quickly to Abuja to be by her sister’s side, a moment she said she wishes she could undo.

George further alleged that the general hospital where Chiamaka was admitted lacked oxygen, which she described as a vital resource that could have saved her life.

“Life is so fickle. My sister would have been alive today if I didn’t have two court cases in Lagos. You called but I was being dragged from Magistrate Court to Federal High Court. You called but I missed your call because I was busy fighting for my life and freedom in Lagos,” she wrote.

““I am sorry Sister Amaka. I wish I could go back in time. I would be with you in Abuja and we could have saved you. A whole General Hospital didn’t have oxygen. Nigeria failed you. I failed you.”

The incident comes amid an ongoing legal dispute between the content creator and a hair vendor, Rainbow Hairs. The case began last year after George claimed she received substandard hair products despite paying more than N200,000, prompting the company to file a defamation suit against her.
