American rapper Cardi B talks candidly about how her career was significantly impacted by her fear of social media reaction.

Cardi spoke up about her challenges, her inner problems, and how she overcame the anxiety that threatened to stifle her creativity and success in an open conversation with Complex 360 with Fast Series.

During the talk, Cardi B—who is well-known for her positive outlook and outspoken manner—showed a more vulnerable side.

Cardi B said that, in spite of her enormous fan base and followers, the constant barrage of unfavourable remarks and abuse on social media has a severe detrimental impact on her, deterring her from pursuing her passion and personal life.

According to her, the pressure to always produce hits and maintain a specific image put her in a state of anxiety.

She said:

“I just feel like I lost myself with everything.

“A lot of music commenters and everything and a lot of people just be like, ‘She’s afraid to drop an album, she’s afraid to drop music.

“Like last year, I barely dropped music.

“It’s just like I was just afraid to do everything.”

Few months ago, Cardi B announced split from husband Offset after 6 years of marriage.

Fans and followers were taken aback by the Grammy-winning rapper’s announcement, as they were used to seeing the couple as lively and clearly committed to one another.

Before this confirmation, the two had only unfollowed each other on Instagram for a few days.

It’s been a minute since I was single. However, I haven’t been afraid—I just don’t know how to tell everyone.

“I kind of wanted to tell you guys when I went live the last time, but I changed my mind because I didn’t know how to tell you. But this has been the situation for a minute,” she remarked.
