The results of the autopsy performed on the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known by his stage as Mohbad, will be available in three to four weeks.

The clue was revealed by Dr. Richard Somiari, Director of Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre, during his testimony on Wednesday during a coroner’s inquest into the singer’s death.

Defence attorneys cross-examined the witness throughout the inquest.

Recall that the musician, Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27 years.

The Lagos State Government ordered a coroner’s investigation into his death as a result of the controversy his death caused both domestically and internationally.

Starting on October 13, 2023, the Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court is hosting the inquest.

Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, the coroner, was informed by Somiari:

“We are expected to get the first set of autopsy results in three to four weeks and re-confirm to authenticate the cause of the death.

“We searched for multiple possibilities, to check if poison was involved in the death of Mohbad since no actual cause was mentioned.”

The forensic expert assured the public of adequate security and monitoring of samples for the autopsy. He said:

“We have a place where items are stored for safety and security of results. There is a procedure for monitoring samples moved abroad.”

A story claiming that Afro artist Ibrahim Owodunni, also known as Primeboy, was re-arrested in connection with the passing of his buddy and coworker Ilerioluwa Aloba, sometimes referred to as Mohbad, has been refuted by the Lagos State Police Command.

Since the investigation’s inception, Primeboy—who was previously detained in the wake of the uproar surrounding Mohbad’s death—has been to the SCID once a week.

He was allegedly re-arrested and detained by the Lagos police command during his Tuesday visit, according to a report that went viral on Tuesday.

But when reached on Wednesday, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the Lagos State Police, denied the report’s veracity.
