Popular Nigerian content creator, King Mitchy has voiced frustration over a tax demand from the Lagos State Government, with the reported amount sparking widespread reactions online.

The influencer, who was recently involved in a widely discussed online clash with VeryDarkMan, shared her concerns through a series of Instagram posts.

According to her, she was asked to pay ₦12 million in tax, rejecting earlier claims that she earns ₦1 million daily as mere social media exaggeration.

They said I sold drinks N33M food N82M . I sell and give the money to less privileged living in Lagos. I don’t have 1 kobo”, She added.

The development comes shortly after another content creator, Peller, was reportedly asked to pay ₦36 million in income tax by the Lagos State Government.

Peller, however, maintained that he could not afford the amount, explaining that his rise to fame is recent.

In response, the Lagos State Government reiterated that anyone earning income within the state — whether physically or through online platforms — is obligated to pay tax, citing relevant provisions of the Nigerian Constitution.

Meanwhile, King Mitchy’s recent dispute with VeryDarkMan also drew significant attention online after she criticised him over NGO-related donations. The controversy later escalated before both parties’ management teams later clarified it was a publicity stunt.
