Maverick singer, Charles Oputa, commonly referred to as Charly Boy, is currently putting the controversy about his gender identity to rest.

The singer-turned-media personality claimed that while he may be gay, he has made the decision not to be. In a recent interview, he talked about the incident with reality star Uriel Oputa.

He called Linda, the “Area Fada,” who mentioned having a feminine side.

Charly Boy stressed that if he were gay, he would have been leading the campaign for gay rights in Nigeria, despite his declaration that he is not.

He said:

“I’ve a feminine side I called Linda. And I remember when I was doing the Charly Boy show, I had this character I always played called Miss Zigizigi. I picked that up when I was in the United States.

“So I’ve my feminine ways and sometimes I can get confusing if you really don’t know who I am. A lot of people have said I am gay.

“I could be but I am not. Because if I was gay I will be carrying my placards going around and fighting for gay rights.”

Recall that weeks back, Charles Oputa, better known as Charly Boy shockingly revealed that he sleeps in a coffin sometimes.

There have always been rumours of him owning a coffin and sleeping in it, to which he confirmed.

The singer made the reveal when speaking on a podcast recently when talking about some rare things about his lifestyle.

Charly Boy when asked why he sleeps in a coffin didn’t give a real reason, he only gave a non-answer, tactically evading the question.
